A jewelry organizer to rediscover what I own

Guest post written by Raquel Harris

It’s funny how sometimes you can forget these great things that you bought that you were so excited about before. Well, that happens to me every so often because I have so much jewelry, purses and things like that. It’s almost as fun as shopping to find something that you absolutely forgot about, too! The Younger Generation

Guest post from: Constance Rodgers

There is nothing I love more than mentoring younger business owners. I’ve made a name for myself in the area, and I thoroughly enjoy helping out the younger generation. A lot of people like to talk about how the younger generations are lazy and don’t want to work hard, but I can absolutely refute that with about twenty examples, just off the top of my head. I do always find it funny, however, how many of them are a bit unrealistic. Many of them imagine them running their business from their garage (or worse, from their mother’s garage) with the help of a laptop and a smart phone. Continue reading

Why on demand movies are better than Netflix

Author: Joyce Mccall

I would like to introduce you to my soapbox. Soapbox meet audience. Audience meet soapbox. Ok now that everyone has been formally introduced let’s get down to brass tacks. We will start with Netflix. Do you guys have a subscription to this? I do. Let’s be honest it sounds like a really cool idea. All I have to do is pay a flat fee and I get to watch as many DVDs as I want?! What’s that you say? Just put them in that little red envelope and send it off and a new one will show up in my mailbox? Awesome. Where do I sign? So that is what I was thinking when I signed up for Netflix. The only problem is every time I want to watch a movie it is never already AT MY HOUSE. This is not a good plan. Oh great, now I have to wait two days to get the dvd that I want to watch today? I will say it again, this is not a good plan. So now I have direct tv prices and with that I also have a little gem of ondemand movies. I can watch pretty much whatever I want whenever I want. This is a much better plan.

biggest loser

Thanks for the article from Isaiah Gaines

At work we are doing a program called the Biggest Loser. It’s a weight loss incentive to try to support each other in our weight loss goals. If you want to participate, you simply pay $10 to the lady coordinating it, and get weighed. Then, 8 weeks later, the person who has lost the highest percentage of their body weight gets the cash. I think we are up to $180 dollars. That sure would be fun to win, and even more fun to lose weight. The ladies were talking in the break room about a Biggest Loser website, and it sounds cool. I’m going to sign up to get internet at home through satellite star internet.com so I can go to that site, too. They said it is basically like a blog where we can chat about how we are doing, strategies that work for us, and basically just offer support for one another. I think that support and accountability is going to be key for me to finally lose the 30 pounds I’ve been carrying around since I had my babies.
